Tellyo selected finalist SXSW accelerator pitch event
We are proud to share that we were selected as a finalist in the Sports and Performance Data Technologies category for the 10th annual SXSW Accelerator Pitch Event®.
The SXSW Accelerator is the marquee event of South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conference & Festivals (March 9-18, 2018) Startup & Tech Sectors Track, where leading startups from around the world showcase some of the most impressive technology innovations to a panel of hand-picked judges and a live audience. Out of the more than 600 companies that applied to present at SXSW Accelerator, Tellyo was selected among the 50 finalists spanning 10 separate categories.
The two-day event will be held the first weekend of SXSW Conference & Festivals, Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11, on the third floor of the Downtown Hilton Austin, Salon A/B. The Pitch Event will then culminate with the SXSW Accelerator Awards Ceremony on Sunday evening, March 11, where winning startups from each category and a Best in Show winner will be announced and honored.
The Accelerator will feature finalists across the following 10 categories: Augmented & Virtual Reality, Enterprise & Smart Data, Entertainment & Content, Health & Wearables, Hyper-Connected Communities, Payment & FinTech, Security & Privacy, Social & Culture, Sports & Performance Data, and Transportation.
Tellyo will present among four other companies in the Sports and Performance Data Technologies category on Sunday 11 March 2018.
Richard Collins, Tellyo CEO, said: “We’re excited to be shortlisted for the highly prestigious SXSW Accelerator Pitch Event and honored to be sharing the stage with other leading-edge technology innovators. At the event in March, we look forward to showcasing our cloud-based video production platform, and how it helps our customers to amplify live sports events and engage with fans more effectively online.”
Tellyo’s cloud-based video production platform gives sports broadcasters and rights holders the solutions they need to easily create engaging videos from live content, and share them to social and digital channels in real-time. The company has partnerships with the International Table Tennis Federation, Guinness PRO14 Rugby, broadcaster Polsat, sports television producer Sunset+Vine, extreme sports event organiser FISE, and British Cycling.
“For the past decade, we’ve had the honor of offering a platform to some of the most cutting-edge global technologies and innovations – allowing CEOs and developers to present their solutions to investors, potential partners and key targets,” said SXSW Accelerator Event Producer Chris Valentine. “Of those who’ve presented on stage, over 70% have gone on to receive funding in excess of nearly $4.63 billion. In addition, 16% of these companies went on to be acquired. We look forward to once again being a launching pad for startups to achieve some of their greatest successes. All of us with SXSW Accelerator are proud and impressed by the companies who are truly changing industries and changing the world.”

We’re proud to help SportsPro Live in their success!
We were extremely proud to partner with SportsPro Live at its London conference last week.
By supporting SportsPro teams on the ground throughout the event, we helped to ensure that the conference’s content was fully amplified across social media.
During the two day conference, forty-two conference videos were created and shared using our Tellyo video production tool. The videos were available via the @SportsProLive twitter stream (see below), helping to drive social reach and engagement levels to new levels.
Held at Wembley Stadium, the SportsPro Live event was filled with high-calibre people and presented in-depth discussion about burning topics within the sports industry.
Nick Meacham, SportsPro’s Managing Director, said about Tellyo:
“Tellyo has delivered excellent results elsewhere in the industry so when it came to choosing a partner to ensure our content enjoyed the best possible promotion, they were the clearest team to work with.”
Speaking about the partnership prior to the event, our CEO, Richard Collins, was quick to express our team’s excitement about partnering with SportsPro Live. Richard added:
“SportsPro Live also offers us the opportunity to showcase Tellyo’s service to leading industry professionals.”
We’re exhibiting at SportsPro Live in London
SportsPro Live is one of the major sports conferences on the exhibition circuit. It is a great opportunity for us to meet people in the industry. We’re also going to showcase our social video production, editing and sharing platform.
This year’s event takes place on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 March at Wembley Stadium in London. Proud of its international reach, the event’s global speaker line-up reflects this. It includes top executives from the UFC, ESPN, the Seattle Sounders, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, AC Milan, and many more.
Tackling the big questions facing sports
Billed as willing to take on the big questions facing the sports business, SportsPro Live 2017 will consider every topic from each side. That includes rights holders, brands and partners. It will also look outside sport for new perspectives from the likes of Mike Moffo, a digital strategist for Airbnb and consultant to both Obama presidential campaigns. The aim being to answer key questions about the forces reforming the frontiers of the industry.
For us, there are seismic changes in the way sports video content is being delivered to and consumed by fans. This is coupled with new concepts (such as e-sports) and new online opportunities for smaller federations and governing bodies (such as our recent partnership with the International Table Tennis Federation). In-turn, these changes are disrupting commercial models, and impacting distribution deals and broadcast rights.
Our Tellyo platform provides the tools to help rights holders, brands and partners meet the challenges ahead.
Meet us on our stand
If you want to find out more about Tellyo, visit our stand. Come and meet us, and see how our social video production, editing and sharing platform works. Our stand is right next to the exit from the plenary and it’s really easy to spot.

We’re at the Mobile World Congress
We’re attending this week’s Mobile World Congress. The event is the world’s largest gathering for the mobile industry, organised by the GSMA and held in Barcelona between 27 February – 2 March 2017.
There is an exciting agenda for this year’s conference. And we’re particularly looking forward to ‘The fan experience’ and ‘Optimising exceptional video experiences’.
The fan experience
The fan experience will look at how connectivity is shaping the way in which we watch and experience live sporting events. The session will highlight innovative applications that are enhancing the fan experience.
We provide social video tools to sports brands, which in-turn enable their fans to become active participants in social experiences. It’s a subject that’s close to our heart, one we recently touched upon in our blog 5 sports brands mastering real-time video marketing.
Optimising exceptional video experiences
Optimising exceptional video experiences will look at content delivery at the network edge, the latest techniques in optimisation and compression and technologies like UHD and LTE Broadcast. These all offer opportunities to deliver unparalleled video experiences on mobile networks, whilst offering new business models to operators.
If you’d like to meet us there give us a shout on Twitter at @TellyoTV We hope to see you at the conference!
We were at SPOBIS in Düsseldorf
Our year got off to a flyer last week at SPOBIS, one of the biggest sports business conferences in Europe.
It was a lively event filled with top quality speakers, while the forums and networking get-togethers were extremely well organised. Within these, digital topics were hotly debated – from social media trends to internationalisation. The continued rise of esports struck us as one to watch in 2017. We also found delegates understood the importance of real-time video sharing. But they wanted to know how to do it.
Here’s our visual summary of the event.
We’re starting 2017 at SPOBIS in Dusseldorf
SPOBIS is the obvious first stop for us in 2017. One of the biggest sports business conferences in Europe, it’s a fantastic opportunity to meet people in the industry.
The event is taking place between 30 and 31 January in Dusseldorf’s CCD Conference Centre. There is an excellent line-up of speakers, including well-known names like Karl-Heinz Rummenigge from Bayern Munich, Jean Todt from Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), and many more. Explore the full list of SPOBIS speakers.
